Our Policies

We appreciate you joining us from Bloomfield Pet Grooming. Since Exclusive Pet Grooming is separate from DePorre Veterinary as of February 1, 2022, there are new policies in place. Below are some policies we would like to make you aware of. You will be asked to sign a grooming release at your first appointment that covers these policies.

  • A credit card number is now required to hold all grooming and full-service bath appointments. (We do not charge a deposit; the only time you will be charged with the credit card we have on file will be if you either do not show up for your appointment or you cancel less than 24 hours from your scheduled appointment time.) Immediately upon receiving your credit card number, CardSecure encrypts your sensitive data using Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE). The encrypted card number is then assigned a secure token. The token—which is useless to hackers—is stored in our system, not the card information, so your sensitive data is completely safe. This card CANNOT be accessed by our staff at checkout to pay for the appointment so please be sure to bring a form of payment!

  • Appointments need to be cancelled at minimum of 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full price of the service.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late for an appointment, we would consider it a no-show and you could be charged the full amount for the service that was scheduled. If you are running late, please call the shop and see if something can be worked out.

  • We require all pets to be current on their vaccinations. Please bring a paper or electronic copy when you drop off. If you forget a copy, we will attempt to call DePorre and verify your dog is up to date. If a vaccine has expired or if we are unable to get a hold of DePorre we will be unable to groom your pet and you will be charged for the full service. 

  • Quoting a price of a groom can be very hard since there are many different factors that go into this process. Once our groomers start working on your pet, we might notice things we were not aware of at check-in and there could be an extra charge. The most common reason a price goes up is because of matting. Our matting charges start at $10 and can increase based on the level of matting. We will always try to point out any extra charges when you drop off, but sometimes we don't catch it until we start the grooming process.  

  • We work hard to provide a low-stress setting, but if you dog becomes aggressive, anxious, or showing signs of high stress, we will stop services and you will be charged the price of the grooming up to that point. We may suggest a plan to ease the grooming process for your pet in the future. Exclusive Pet Grooming has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services, or cancel grooming services at any time before, during, or after grooming.

  • If we notice fleas on your pet while bathing or grooming, we will call to inform you and you will be charged a $15 fee for a flea bath. If we notice a tick on your pet while grooming, we will attempt to safely remove it and inform you at pick up.

  • Grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can happen during or after grooming. Any medical expenses that arise from these issues are the pet owner's responsibility.

  • If any issues or injuries occur during grooming, or we notice something “off”, we will inform you immediately or upon pickup. We do not always see every issue on every pet, but anything we are aware of - you will be too. (Such as: nicks, hematomas from matting, hot spots, skin infections, clipper irritation, red marks, tumors, mental or physical stress, etc.) These issues can happen during or after grooming. These are considered routine risks of grooming and are the pet owners’ responsibility.

  • If an emergency arises during grooming, and you are unable to be contacted, Exclusive Pet Grooming has the right to seek appropriate medical treatment from DePorre for your pet and the pet owner is responsible for any and all expenses incurred.

  • You are responsible for any damage(s) or harm caused by your dog at Exclusive Pet Grooming.

  • Exclusive Pet Grooming may take pictures and/or videos of your pet to be used for marketing purposes.

  • Payment is required at pick-up and can be made by Credit Card or Cash. We do not accept checks.
